Pink Oleander

Pink Oleander

“My perfume bestows the gift of divine peace.”

Botanical Name: Nerium oleander

Link to Chakra:  Heart Chakra

Origin:  A beautiful shrub with fragrant flowers, Oleander is a native of the Mediterranean.

Traditional herbal uses:  Although all parts of the plant are poisonous, the root and root bark are used as a powerful diuretic and heart tonic.  A paste from the root bark is good for ringworm while the sticky sap is used for leprosy and boils.  The leaves boiled in oil are also useful for skin diseases.

Energetic properties:

  • Agitation
  • Unsettled feelings
  • Meditation/stillness
  • Letting go and letting God

This was the very first essence I ever made and my favourite – just the memory of the soft, sweet scent of this flower makes me sigh with contentment and peace.  This lovely shrub could be found all over the grounds of the hotel where my husband and I were staying and I was seduced by its’ perfume.  It seems appropriate that this essence was the first, as its’ heart chakra energy opened my own heart to the language of the flowers.  If only I could infuse that delicious scent into the essence…..
