Flower Essence Combination for 2012

Posted by on in Essenceblogs

Do you know the American band „Me First & The Gimmegimmes“? Even though hardly anyone has ever heard of them, they (their name) created the soundtrack of the last couple of years until today. The worldwide experiment of trying to solve all problems using this simple rule (me first) has proven to be so incredibly successful in the banking and home equity sector, that today even whole countries make use of it. Greece is poo, the Dutch want to throw the Bulgarians out of the Schengen zone, others do not want to cooperate under no circumstances whatsoever, and of course Turkey does not belong to Europe.
So here we are: back to the roots, scattered regionalism, what other concept than the medieval „dog eat dog“ would be better in order to solve global problems?

Let me use the shamanic perspective for a minute that says: Strong is he who has many friends. Obviously European politicians are not shamans. Who would need friends when he has a big head?

When you want to prepare a flower essence in a shamanic way you have to look for the most vigorous plants.  In addition to this usual criterium a shaman would also pay attention to how the plant behaves. Does it grow solitarily, in a group of similar plants, in association with other plants, in short: how does the plant behave socially? And how is its relationship to the mineral world? Is there a stone (mineral kingdom) nearby that has any relation to the plant? After all, animals. He is strong, who has many friends, remember? Are there animals in the vicinity of the plant? How do they behave? Only when in these respects you find an optimal energetic state of the plant and its environment, you begin the actual preparing process with the bending of the flowers, so that they lie on the surface of a small dish with spring water and transfer their energy into the water with the sunshine‘s help.

Try to use this perspective in terms of politics and countries. How much energy can a country keep, that wastes it by arguing with its neighbours?

At this point of reflecting the worth of selfishness I stumbled upon a book with the title „The cooperative gene“. A modification of the Darwinian theory of evolution. The author Joachim Bauer asserts that evolution does not always enforce the stronger, but the more cooperative.

We have made tests with monkeys, which should prove whether they can act altruistically. The setting consisted of two cages with monkeys, a stick and a banana. They were placed in a way that none of both monkeys could reach the banana. However, should the one in possession of the stick decide to hand it over to the other one, he could use it to get the banana for himself. Had both been extremely challenging egoists, the banana would have been digested by all kinds of microorganisms but none of the monkeys.

The working group is superior to the individual and internally fractious group.

A well-known Dutch scientist was concerned with the psychological background of the financial crisis and the mind games to limit the range of  the Euro to the northern member states of the EU in the newspaper nrc.next. According to Robbert Dijkgraaf the current economic conditions created a north-south thinking that is increasingly based on old prejudices:
the Northern Europeans reasonable, economically budgeting, sober and a bit boring, the southern Europeans living happily, enjoying a blind eye and irresponsible. This pattern is evident not only in relation to the whole of Europe, but also to individual countries. In Germany we see the very same: sober Hamburgers and partying Bavarians.

In the Netherlands we „know“ that  the Frisians, who of course live in the North, are stubborn, withdrawn and cheerless, while Brabanters and Limburgers are supposed to consider the whole life as a carnival. Our neighbours, the Belgians know that phenomenon, too: the northern Flemings versus the southern Walloons - and guess which of both groups struggle with financial problems. Or take a look at the Lega Nord, the party that wants to split the North from the rest of Italy. Because the Southern Italians are such lazy, chaotic and partying people. Does that not sound familiar to what the northern Europeans think about all Italians?

Let us zoom in a little and we will not find it surprising that even cities have a north-south polarity. Presumably there are also districts and streets that show this pattern.

How small the unit may be, the model remains unchanged. Dijkgraaf concludes that this - in my view, archetypal - polarity probably can even be found in any individual person. He sees this as a challenge. We thus reduce the unit to ourselves! If there were no outside, no more excuses and blaming the other were allowed. We could no longer project specific characteristics to others, but instead had to recognize the poles in ourselves - and harmonize them. Unless we preferred to live in eternal conflict with ourselves.

Should we succeed finding peace inside, and then zoom out again, would we return to selfishness and argueing or coexistence and cooperation? We would have to want the latter, consciously decide to take this direction, even though there are so many who profit from strife and make every effort to convince everyone else of its benefits.

Let me close the circle now and dare an experiment.

For all the above, meaning the superiority of cooperation over the selfishness on the in- as well as the outside, I would like to suggest an experimental flower essence

A flower essence combination covering the needs of this special year 2012 should consist of the following flower essences:
Thistle-Trio as the three contained single thistle essences (Cirsium vulgare, Cirsium arvense and Echinops sphaerocephalus) have something to do with group dynamics, self-will and self-value, hence the cooperation flowers,
as the two representative Yin and Yang flowers. Reconcile the male and female forces within and get them to bloom as a prerequisite to a peaceful living together, which is characterized by mutual respect and helpfulness, openness and directness.
That is what the 2012 mix shall initiate and support.
